So the weekend of July 25th, we had our Church Family Camping weekend at Chain Lakes, about 40 minutes southwest of Black Diamond. It was a very enjoyable weekend as the high was 26 degrees with a good breeze all weekend, so our girls did not suffer in crazy heat. The nights were quite cold in the tent, but Megan LOVED it. We went to a beach Saturday afternoon where we had a family picnic lunch, and then went into the bitterly cold lake. Megan opted mainly to play on the "beach" with her new beach toys, and Taylor couldn't get enough of standing in the frigid water. Taylor became terribly upset when it was time for us to dry off and get back to our tent for a nap. Megan had a blast playing with friends all weekend, and she and Taylor loved all the dogs that people had brought along for camping. We'll be going camping at least one more time in August with my (Carla) cousin Janet and her husband Kyle and daughter Katelyn, which we're really looking forward to. I'm not necassarily big on camping, but I want these awesome memories for our kids as they grow up, and Megan already loves to camp! That's what it's all about!
